Who says insurance has to be boring? Certainly not Sandy Avina. With over 20 years in Risk Management, Claims, and Insurance, Sandy blends real-world expertise with a refreshing dose of humor and pop culture—think scary movies, Ironman, and insurance exclusions in the same breath.

She currently serves as the JPA Claims Services Manager for California Schools JPA, working under the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. Sandy holds an MBA from Redlands University, a BA in Political Science from UC Riverside, and is a Certified Mental Health First Aid instructor. She’s passionate about mental health advocacy in the industry and serves on multiple legislative and government relations committees across California’s risk and workers’ comp landscape.

Sandy is also the creative force behind Riskfluencer, where she makes insurance education fun, relatable, and totally bingeable.
